Boone for New Years

After Christmas, we planned to meet my whole family in Boone to celebrate but plans changed a little when Mom, Dad and Gigi all were diagnosed with the flu :(  The Dew crew and our family though were still able to get together and have a blast up at the cabin for a couple days!  Walking around King Street, getting a little snow, yummy meals, hikes, and hanging at the cabin... so fun!

And one quick picture celebrating the new year-- phew we look a little rough haha!

Love my sis and her fam!

A couple weeks later when we were in Raleigh, we celebrated Christmas with my parents & Gigi once they were all feeling better!  We all loved our gifts!

Christmas 2014!

Christmas this year was so fun, and I'm so thankful we were able to have a quiet day at our house enjoying the kids and time together.  Emery told us we all had to put on our robes before even heading downstairs, so we grabbed this quick photo once we were all up:

Emery immediately saw her new pillow (an item from her list!) and couldn't wait to dig into her stocking.
Pillow AND lemon heads?! "Best Day Ever":)

Em's new sled-- now we just need some snow!

Will had fun opening presents:

Tyson loving opening his presents too:
We tried a new recipe... Monkey Bread muffins from Pioneer Woman. SO good!
There was one more item on Emery's list... a "door".  We told her to go check upstairs in her room and man was she so excited when she saw the "secret door" between her and Will's closets that Kyle built!  So thankful for a handy husband!  (She had taken off her outfit from being so sweaty from doing her secret door loop so many times ha!)
The rest of the day we hung out with each other and enjoyed watching Emery play with her new stuff :)
Family bike ride:
And of course made cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus:
A wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Decorations & Traditions!

We had so much fun celebrating Christmas all month long with Emery.  She truly got into some fun traditions this year, which made it all the more fun for Kyle and I.  I wish so much we could leave decorations up all year round.  Something about those twinkle lights!

Love having Will's monogrammed stocking up with ours this year!  Also, I finally got a Christmas verse sign done this year for our mantel... yeah!
Of course "Roger" made his appearance and she had such a blast finding him everyday. We don't focus at all on her being "good" and him relaying that to Santa, but instead Roger and Santa want Emery to be kind and focus on the true meaning of Christmas.... Jesus' Birth!
She made all of our Christmas wrapping paper this year.  Packing paper with fun stencils and paint makes for lots of fun:
Pretty finished product:

Peppermint melts.  Supposed to be ornaments but Tyson would eat those up in a second I think!

Lots of cookie baking for friends and neighbors:
Ninja cookies!
Gingerbread house time:
Christmas outfits:
Unbelievably we knocked out Christmas shopping for everyone in one night... with the kids in tow no less!  Celebrated with pizza :)

Christmas Eve service:
Emery LOVED holding her own candle this year:

Afterwards driving around the neighborhood looking at all the lights:
Christmas Eve night silly photo:
Setting Christmas cookies out for Santa:
And saying farewell until next year to Roger:

After Christmas sale at Target with my girl!
She was so excited they wrote her name on her Hot Chocolate cup:
So fun being in town and having our own Christmas traditions!
