Halloween 2014!

We had such a great time this Halloween!  Emery had decided that she wanted to be Pocahontas this year which worked out perfectly because 1) it was a super easy costume for me to make and 2) Pocahontas's best friend is a little raccoon which would work perfectly for Will!  She was so excited to straighten her hair and wear the costume we had made, including the necklace which we made from clay, baked it and then strung it on an old necklace we had laying around the house.

For Will's costume we took sticky felt, cut it into the desired shapes and stuck it on a gray hoodie-- talk about easy!  The only part I had to sew was the ears to stick up correctly.

We went over to Nora's house (Emery's good friend in our neighborhood) and trick or treated with their whole family.  Emery had the best time running around with Nora, and Nora helped give her confidence to go up and talk to so many strangers. 

Will did great in the Bjorn and fell asleep half way through the night.  We stopped by Warren & Mandy's house to visit for a little before heading home to call it a night.

One thing we did start with Emery this year was the "switch witch" tradition.  She picked out about 5 of her favorite candies and then put the rest in a basket for the Switch Witch to come take in exchange for a present.  She said that she really wanted the Switch Witch to bring her some new books and games on her iPad... and that sounded great to us :)  Candy makes Emery so hyper which then leads to her fighting sleep which then leads to her being sassy and disobeying.  So the less candy we had for her to eat the better :)

Such a great Halloween-- Emery is already planning her and Will's costume for next year!

Baby in a Pumpkin!

Having a baby around the holidays is always so fun since you can dress them up in festive things :)  We had to get a couple shots of Will in the pumpkin... happy as a clam!

And Emery joined in for the fun too haha!

North Carolina Fair 2014!

We were so excited to do a sibling fair night this year, as last year we weren't able to make it!  As always we love going to all of our favorite food spots and do a couple crazy rides in between.  This year Anne's sister, Kathryn, and her husband, Nathan, joined us and we all had a blast.  SO SO much fun... wish we could have sibling dates more often-- I'm so thankful for how close we all are and how we all crave time together!

Tough Mudder 2014

Kyle decided to do the Tough Mudder here in Charlotte again, this year with his buddy Cory!  They do F3 together most mornings (a free workout group here) and were up for the crazy obstacle courses that the Tough Mudder makes you go through.  They both had a great time, although I think around mile 7 Kyle said his calves gave out and started cramping up, so the last 3 miles were tough.  Still fun though and I'm sure he'll plan to do it again next year!
