Hospital Sibling Tour & Date Night!

After church on Sunday, May 4th we headed to the sibling tour at our hospital as we wanted to make sure Emery was comfortable in the hospital and wouldn't be scared coming to visit us.  It was SUCH a cheesy class and the teacher was horrible with kids, but Emery had a blast.
Look at this "Proface":
When we got home, we met my Uncle David and Shannon at our house as they graciously babysat Emery for us so Kyle and I could have one last date night before baby boy arrived.  We had been craving Cantina, our favorite Mexican restaurant here, and had such a great time having a night out.  Little did we know my contractions were going to start the next day, so it really was perfect timing!  (FYI we had Mexican the night before my contractions started with Emery... spicy food does the trick!)

Emery goes camping!

Since we thought baby boy might be coming early, we unbelievably finished all of our house projects ahead of schedule and had a free weekend with no plans (May 3rd weekend)!  We asked Emery if she wanted to go camping and she literally couldn't get it off her mind until we made that come true.  Kyle didn't want to venture out too far incase I went into labor, so him and Emery had a camping trip to our backyard!
Setting up the tent:

Next was time for the campfire and smores!

And lastly, getting ready for bed!  Kyle said she had the best time listening to his camping stories.  (I chose to sleep in the house on our comfortable mattress!) I asked Emery the next morning what her favorite part was and she said "cuddling with daddy".
So much fun can't wait to go camping as a family soon!

Family Room: Before & After

Since we've been in our house over a year now, we've had the best time going back and looking at what our house looked like before we moved in.  Being a short sale, the house needed a lot of work and we love seeing everything we've been able to accomplish around here!

Hopefully I can get posts out about each room eventually, but for now I'll start with our family room. Here is the before picture from right when we moved in... minus the awesome jungle print curtains that were hanging up :)
A view from the kitchen:
And here are our after shots.  New fan, blinds, carpet, paint and built ins!
Crazy difference!  Here are individual posts on things in the room:

39 weeks!

How Far Along: 39 weeks. My tummy is measuring right on track and doctor said if he had to take a guess he thinks baby is around 8 lbs right now.  Probably will be around same size as Emery was when she was born!

Total Weight Gain: Up around 36 lbs maybe? Haven't weighed myself so I'll update this later when I do.  Rings are still on and feel very blessed that I haven't had any swelling!

Gender: A Baby BOY!

Movement: Just the rolling feeling still and a couple harder kicks every now and then.

What I miss: Jimmy Johns, Sushi, Caffeine, and Margaritas!

Sleep: Still sleeping great- waking up once or twice a night to go pee.

Symptoms: Lots of Braxton Hicks when I do anything active.  Started walking again this week which feels great.

Cravings: Cheese, chips, ice cream, and candy!

Doctor Appointment: Heartbeat was 134 and sounded very strong.  Still 3cm dilated, but this time had changed to 70% effaced.  We decided to go ahead and strip my membranes which is just done during the cervix check.  It's a quick procedure where the uterus and amniotic sack are separated near the cervix by the doctors hand.  Hormones are released that sometimes have can start labor.  So far today I've have had lower abdominal cramping that's increased to contractions but nothing super regular or painful.  He said contractions are normal and there is about a 50% chance of them actually amounting to labor.  So we'll see!

Feeling: Feeling great and so ready for him to be here whenever he decides to come!

Hall Bathroom -- New Floor!

Well the past couple months around here have been FILLED with house projects... which has meant lots of research, people coming in and out and just having a VERY messy house.  I'm so excited to say they are ALL done and I hopefully can get a couple blog updates done before our baby boy makes his appearance!

First up was our downstairs hall bathroom.  We replaced with vanity top with a Bianco Andes marble slab left over from our kitchen remodel (post on that coming soon!).  We also had our cabinet painter paint the vanity cabinet when she did all of our kitchen cabinets.  Then lastly, tilers came in and replaced the floor for us with a rectangular tile we picked from Home Depot (looks like slate color).

Here is a before picture after they had replaced the vanity countertop and sink:
The bathroom already had tile in it, but unfortunately the grout was cracking off from the wall and it was so dirty.

They were able to reuse the backer board already there, which saved us some money!  Here's after demo:

During the tiling process!
And all done!!

38 weeks!

I don't have a belly shot for this week but still wanted to do a survey to remember everything.  I can't believe we are 2 weeks away from my due date!

How Far Along: 38 weeks (My tummy is measuring 37 weeks now b/c he's so low)

Total Weight Gain: Up 34 lb I think, truthfully not keeping track.  My rings still fit though which is exciting!

Gender: A Baby BOY!

Movement: Hiccups every couple days and rolling feeling still.  Did a kick count after last weeks appointment to make sure he was moving as much as he needed to, and thankfully he passed with flying colors!  I guess I just don't realize that he's moving since I'm moving all the time.

What I miss: Jimmy Johns, Sushi, Caffeine, Moscato, and Margaritas!

Sleep: Waking up now twice a night to go pee and turning over is getting difficult but still sleeping great.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks and bending over to put on anything (underwear, pants, shoes, etc) is getting difficult.  Definitely starting to waddle a little when I get tired as he's sitting lower now!

Cravings: Cheese & crackers, chips, ice cream, and applesauce!

Doctor Appointment: Heartbeat was 145 and sounded very strong.  Such a relief to not hear any kind of skipping sound, so during last weeks appointment we must have been hearing an echo or hiccups.  Still 3cm dilated, and 50% effaced.

Feeling: Feeling much better this week than last.  We officially have all of our house projects done, the nursery is done, our house is clean and hospital bags are packed.  I've had time to buy Em some "big sister" outfits which she loves, bathe Tyson, and knock other small things off our to-do list.  Emery also helped me pack the nurse goody bags this week, which she loved doing and I'm glad to have had time to do again!
I have majorly taken it easy this week as my parents were out of town in Vegas.  I'm excited to start back my walks next week and get some contractions going!  Cannot WAIT to meet our baby boy!
