37 Weeks!

37 weeks -- WOO HOO!

How Far Along: 37 weeks (My tummy is measuring 37 weeks right on track) 

Total Weight Gain: Up 32-33 pounds!

Gender: A Baby BOY!

Movement: Rolling feeling and hiccups at least every other day!  They are not making me do kick counts these days and I'm just hoping he's moving around as much as he should be.

What I miss: Jimmy Johns, Sushi, Caffeine, Moscato, and Margaritas!

Sleep: Waking up now twice a night to go pee and turning over is getting difficult but still sleeping great.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks and bending over to put on anything (underwear, pants, shoes, etc) is getting difficult.

Cravings: Cheese & crackers, chips, and applesauce!

Doctor Appointment: Heartbeat was all over the place this time.  Went anywhere from 130-145.  Also when the nurse was listening to his heartbeat it sounded normal and then a skipping sound happened a couple times.  When the doctor came in to listen we couldn't get him to do it again so she said he could have had hiccups or been in a funny position so to not worry.  Will be relieved when I go back next week to hear heartbeat again.  The biggest news is that I am 3cm dilated now, still 50% effaced and still holding at -1 station. He really could come any day now which is CRAZY!  I need to get on packing our hospital bags for real.

Feeling: So many mixed emotions.  Anxious for him to be born so I can know he's healthy and hold him in my arms with no more stress/worry that pregnancy brings.  On the other hand, wanting him to stay in my tummy and develop everything that he needs to be a big healthy boy.  The nursery has everything set up now except decorations, which I think we'll get done this weekend. Emery asks me every morning how many more days till he comes, as she just cannot wait to meet her baby brother.  She lifts up my shirt now and talks to my belly as she knows baby boy can hear her voice.  We are all so excited!

Emery's Bathroom Overhaul

This post is so overdue as we completed this project months ago, but I still wanted to document it on the blog!  After we finished Emery's big girl room the next room on our list to focus on was her bathroom.  It was a dingy beige color with yellowish trim and just needed some loving.  When we first moved into the house we replaced the vinyl in here with tile so that helped it be bare able until we could concentrate on it!

We decided to first paint it a light green/grey color (thanks Molly for letting us use your same nursery color!), repaint all the trim white, and then got busy on replacing the lighting.  The current lighting was a large straight across light with 6 huge bulbs that made the room so hot!  So once we found 2 smaller fixtures, Kyle wired everything perfectly and then got busy framing out the mirror!

He's becoming a pro at electrical projects these days!

And once he finished the framing of the mirror-- so happy with how it came out and the height it adds to the room.

Light fixtures up and we are good to go!

And then we added some decorations in her shower/toilet area as well.

And this room is DONE!

Picnics & Enjoying Spring Weather!

We've been spending almost every pretty day outside enjoying this weather before it gets really hot!  Lots of walks, picnics, playgrounds, feeding geese and playing in our backyard = happy girl & mommy!

Easter 2014!

We had a wonderful Easter around here this year!  Since I'm within a month of my due date, I'm not supposed to travel anywhere more than an hour away so we stayed home and had a wonderful time with just our family of 3.

Sunday morning, we woke up and headed to church.  Emery was SO excited to wear her Easter dress (thanks for the hand me down as always Tara!) and to finally recite her memory bible verse to her Sunday School teacher.

They have a memory verse every month and this was her first one since she just moved up to the 3 year old class.  They chose John 3:16 for all the kids to memorize and she just LOVED being able to say the whole thing.

And here is a video by the end of the month when she could say it at super speed on Easter ha!  The teacher actually was asking the kids to recite them at the end of class right when we walked in to pick Emery up so we were able to hear her and see the teachers reaction.  So proud of our smart girl!

A Couple Family selfies!

After church Emery found her Easter basket (we always hide it... a Baker tradition!) and loved exploring everything inside!  Her favorite item was the new Tinkerbell movie... Pirate Fairy!

Our neighborhood had an Easter Egg hunt so we went up there for those festivities as well.  Lasted about 5 minutes but we got to see the Easter Bunny and take a picture with him.  Fun!

Date Night: Front row seats to John Legend!

Kyle surprised me with a date night the other weekend and we had the best time!  I got in the car and he said, "Let's listen to some John Legend"... I immediately looked at him and said, "WE ARE GOING TO THE SOLD OUT JOHN LEGEND SHOW?!".  To which he replied with a smile: "Who do we know that can get tickets to anything?" in which of course I yelled "CLINT".  So once again Clint worked his magic and found Kyle a great deal on once in a lifetime tickets... FRONT ROW to John Legend.  So so pumped!!

His concert was amazing.  Everyone sat the whole time, he had a string quartet, a guitarist and the piano.  His voice is so smooth and pure-- was such a treat to get away from the "SHOW" aspect of concerts that happen now with crazy lights, dancing and theatrics.

Such a treat from my hubby!

I'm telling you what I don't think I've ever been this close to an artist before!

36 weeks!

Man this pregnancy is flying by!  I'm excited to be going into the doctor weekly to track mine and baby boys progress though!  Before I go any further here is a picture from when I was 35 weeks!

Okay back to the 36 week update!  

This pregnancy is FINALLY hitting Kyle and I that we are going to have a newborn baby in our house soon.  We've been so busy with house renovations (more on that coming later!) that we haven't spent near the amount of time preparing as we did with Emery.  We are so excited though, can't wait!

Sleep: Sleeping great, still only waking up once during the night to go pee.

Symptoms: Think I've officially decided I am having Braxton Hicks off and on as the tightening feeling goes away after 30 seconds or so.  Back hurts at the end of the day if I haven't rested at nap time.

Cravings: Ice cream, cheese & crackers, and applesauce!!

Doctor Appointment: Heartbeat 153.  They tested for Strep B this week and I'm negative which is great.  I have dilated 1 cm and am 50% effaced... my body is getting ready!

Very excited to meet our baby boy in less than 4 weeks!

Hanging with the Borders in Boone!

We've been seeing Lauren & her kiddos a lot lately, and having a blast with them like always.  Merrin and Emery are so funny together and I love seeing Lauren so often.  We met them uptown at Maggianos for lunch one day... YUM!

The following week, Emery and I headed up to Boone for a couple days to escape the construction happening at our house!  I just love that Emery loves Boone as much as Kyle and I do... she was literally on cloud 9 the whole drive up and thanked me so many times once we reached the cabin.

Lauren, Merrin and Woods came to visit us the next day!  Playgrounds, picnics and ice-cream in Blowing Rock make the perfect day!

We also took the girls to see Rio 2 since it just had come out... even though they loved the movie, I think the popcorn was the biggest hit!  And of course Woods was the best baby ever in there and didn't make a peep.

The next day, we hid Easter Eggs for the girls to find.  Lauren and I enjoyed swinging while the girls entertained themselves playing in the rocks.

Later in the day we dyed eggs, too!  Lauren came prepared with Easter activities...  love it!
