Cha-Ching!

One of the things I learned really fast when I started dating Kyle was that he was a "messy room" type of guy. He could care less if he saw the carpet on the floor, just as long as there was a path from the door to his bed to the bathroom. WELL then he married me :) I am very proud to say that now he is a complete clean-freak. It drives him nuts to have clothes all over our room, and our family room all messy! I learned very quickly that Kyle just needed a specific place to put his things, which helps keep our house clean and organized. If I specified a place, from then on he would put whatever it was there. SO about a year ago I bought from the Pottery Barn Outlet a change jar, since I would find lose change in our washer and dryer everyday. I put the change jar on his dresser, and it soon began to fill up!
I finally had the time to roll all the coins tonight, which completely brought back memories of doing that with my dad on weekends! (I love doing this, even though I immediately wash my hands b/c I'm so grossed out from the germs). And guess what the grand total was?!?!

$72.50!! WOO HOO!!

Wordless Wednesday: Our Weird Kids

I thought I would join the band-wagon and start doing these :)

Memorial Weekend in Marietta.

This weekend, we forced ourselves to stay in town, as both of us were running on empty. Kyle and I also had a lot of big decisions that we needed to talk about... the first one being about whether or not we would move. I'm not sure if most of you guys knew that we were debating moving to Roswell, a cute little town closer to my work. We had met with a Realtor a few times, and were about to put a "for sale" sign up... but looking at it strictly financially, it would just truly not be a good decision since we wouldn't make a profit on our house. On Sunday night we officially decided to stay in Marietta for a while :)
Friday night we both came home and had movie night! (I thought all these movies were scary, hence the face) I can't remember the last time we watched a movie together... what a treat! Seven Pounds, with Will Smith, was the first... and SO good. I would highly recommend it! Tyson thoroughly enjoyed movie night in our fort (we push both couches together) as well...
Saturday morning we woke up and had these delicious waffles with strawberries, whip cream, confectionery sugar and syrup... AMAZING.
We walked around downtown Roswell (this was when we were still considering the move), ate, and looked at some potential houses.
We came home and watched Slum dog Millionaire... I would also recommend this one! Some parts are hard to watch, but we still liked it and it has a good ending :) Sunday we went to church, hiked in the pouring rain for a couple hours, then headed to Little 5 Points to eat dinner with Chris, Kathleen, Elyse, and 2 of their friends. It was delicious... man I absolutely LOVE fried pickles.

Monday we got a ton done around the house (you should have seen our to-do list) and then went on a walk by Life University. It's a cool trail and you get to pass some neat things! A little village:

It was a very relaxed weekend, and we truly needed it! Unfortunately we had to miss our good friends, Kostya and Shannon's, wedding in Raleigh. We wish you both the best and hope you had a wonderful wedding day!!

Painting & N-weds Graduation

This weekend we were in town, although poor Kyle didn't get to enjoy it one bit. Starting last Friday he is in an intensive May-mester class that goes Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday all 8-5. BUT it counts for 3 credit hours, which will help him graduate more quickly-- in August rather than December! He has a test every morning, so we've been studying every night together-- flash cards and all! I'm so proud of him!
SO while he was in class on Saturday I headed over to Lacey's house (her, andrea, and 3 other girls are moving into a house in Buckhead!) to help her paint her room! She chose the master bedroom, so Jen and I offered to help since it would have taken Lacey f.o.r.e.v.e.r!
It was a periwinkle color, so we painted over it with a neatural Khaki color, since her blue accents wouldn't have matched the periwinkle. It looks so good and blends with the hard woods perfectly! We had a great day together, then all went over to Mellow Mushroom for a late lunch!

Sunday I met up with Lacey in the afternoon to go over to Ikea to walk around and get ideas on decorating her house! We had a very eventful and funny day together, as always :) I rushed home to meet Kyle at 5, and head over to Lake Altuna for the N-weds graduation party. Kyle and I will 'graduate' in December, but these are all of our friends who are graduating now, with our teachers (Barbara and Greg) in the middle...

They grilled out with hotdogs and tons of sides for dinner, then we played a couple games. We had a great time, although it didn't seem like a weekend since we spent most of it apart and Kyle had to wake up so early every morning!

Half Iron Man & Mothers Day

Saturday morning was Kyle, Kerry & Rachel's half iron man relay event! It started at 7:00 with Rachel's swim, which totaled 1.3 miles. Next was Kyle on the bike, which totaled 56 miles. Last was Kerry with the run, which totaled 13 miles. Even though it was very hot, they all did amazing, what a neat accomplishment for siblings to experience--together! (PICTURES COMING SOON! While they were at the race, I skipped out to go see Sara and her new baby-- who I was DYING to see. Sara had Ethan a week ago, and man is he such a cutie. I had the best time talking with Sara & Joe and hearing all about being new parents. I absolutely loved getting to see you Sara, what a good mommy you already have become! After our visit I headed back home to hang out with Tara and the twins. They are so big, and talking all the time. Natalie even says my name now! Look at her cute little smile!
I then headed over to the Guenthers house to meet Kyle and all the kiddos over there for our Mothers Day celebration. We had a delicious meal that Mr. G cooked and then opened some presents!
I didn't get any pictures of our mothers day celebration with my mom, but Kyle and I gave both of our moms soap and these cute little lunch boxes! (Mom B's was brown and pink!) We went practical this year!

Nick's UNC Graduation

This past weekend Kyle and I traveled in town for Nick's graduation on Sunday, May 10th! Even though he followed in my footsteps and took 5 years in school, he has graduated in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry!

It all started at 9:30 at Kenan Stadium for the big graduation, where Desmond Tutu (winner of the 1984 Nobel Peace Prize) spoke. It was SUPER long and a little boring, but Nick kept texting us the whole time so that entertained us. Duke had Oprah speak... now why couldn't Nick have gone to Duke?! haha jk

Afterwards we took a some pictures by the belltower until we headed over for his next graduation for his BME major...They had one of his professors talk, who truly is a genius, talking about all these equations and stuff that went right over my head. Glad Nick can handle all of it! Tara and Grandma made it halfway through this one, so we took lots of pictures with them afterwards at the reception.

Eric and Nick will be living together in CA this coming year...Then we went over to Nick's house and had a graduation party for him and his roomates!

hopefully we'll do it again after his Dental School Graduation:We also opened some presents the night before and passed around the "Stole of Gratitude"So what's next for Nick? In two weeks he leaves for France, then he's home for a week then leaves for Belize, then flies straight to Guatemala for a mission trip. Then in August he heads to California where he'll be living with friends continuing to play online poker and studying for the DAT exam to get into Dental School.
Congrats Nick, all your hard work paid off! We are so proud of you!

Molly & Marshal's Photo Booth!

As if their wedding wasn't awesome enough... in the other room was a camera set up with a white backdrop. It was there the entire night for all the guests to use and have fun with... AND BOY DID WE! I really don't need to introduce these, but I LOVE the filter that the photographer put on these, to turn them from snapshots to beautiful!! These were just some of my favorites, did I mention there were 480 to choose from?!
