Restful weekend.

This weekend Kyle and I did nothing but relax, and it was amazing. Friday, while we were both at work, we pampered ourselves by having a maid come and do deep cleaning on our house. I am pretty good at keeping our house clean & cloroxing enough... but this was SUCH a treat! We both came home from work to a spotless house that smelled SO good, and our floors were literally "squeeky" clean.... it was heaven. We went out to La Parilla and headed to bed early.

Saturday we woke up and did NOTHING. I worked on Christmas cards and Kyle went through emails since he had been gone all last week on business. Then we preceded to take a 3.5 hour nap (as if we had something to be tired from!). We ended up going over to Chris & Kathleen's house to hang out and eat some pizza. We also played a couple board games... who knew pictionary could be so hard?! Then they showed us this you tube video... it could quite possibly be the funniest video I've seen!
hahaha you have to watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1kjkUAA9VM
Sunday we all went to church together and then Kyle headed to the Falcons game, and they were playing the Panthers so Kyle cheered for both teams! His friend, Demilio, hooked him up with a ticket and they had a ball together.

So that's about all we did!
We also want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jamie & Mike!! Hope you both had wonderful days yesterday!!!

On another note I would love it if you guys could visit my friend, Beth Anne's blog (went to Bayleaf with her). She and her husband were expecting a baby and just found out a couple days ago that she has miscarried 4 days short of her 2nd trimester. If you all could offer her any words of encouragement I would really appreciate it. We have no idea why things like this happen, but we just have to remember that it's all in Gods plan.

Thanksgiving with Kate.

Today we celebrated thanksgiving early with the whole company. Now I know this post is going to blow your minds, so just get ready... YES my company is amazing. Surprised?!
It all started with a page to meet in the warehouse at 12 for a thanksgiving luncheon. We all had certain sides to bring, (I made hashbrown casserole) and man did it add up to a lot of food!! Our warehouse manager, Johnny, led us all in a sweet blessing before we ate. It was so cute I could have just squeezed his cute little cheeks. We then began to feast! It was held in the "Cafe".
Johnny actually made this sign and area for his workers to take breaks during the day!
They had about 5 people cook Turkeys & hams... YUM!
Then we went to sit at our lovely decorated tables. Laura from our department made each placemat & centerpiece.
What's a party without a KA favor? Fall Leaf Bottle Stoppers for each of us!
Andrea, Lacey & Skippy before stuffing themselves silly!
The CEO, Jennifer, sat at our table and we got the chance to visit with her which was really nice. After eating we had a slide show of what we were all thankful for (things we had emailed in earlier last week). It was really neat to see pictures of every ones families/animals/friends.
This thanksgiving, I am so thankful the Lord led me to this wonderful company!!!

Lost camera pics.

Sometimes when I take pictures, the memory card isn't in there so they get "stuck on the camera". I finally got hold of the camera cord, so here are some pictures I've taken since July! We'll go from most recent...
Kyle & Pop after just finishing a puzzle. One night after dinner we showed Pop the puzzle that we had bought to do with him over the weekend. He said "well might as well do it now". We were so shocked that he actually wanted to do it and we had a great time. It was nice to see him get moving and trying to fit some of the puzzle pieces into their spots.
Lacey & I on top of Kennesaw Mountain. It was a hilarious day, the first time Lacey has really "hiked" up a hill :)
The Monday night after my birthday I went to a 20 somethings event on sewing. I came home to Kyle singing with a cake that he had baked for me. The first time he's ever made a cake, it was very sweet. (Unfortunately I didn't come home until 11:30 and Kyle was worried sick... he thought for sure I had been kidnapped, but he decided to still cook the cake just incase). It was delicious, in fun-fetti which is my absolute FAVORITE!
Normally when I'm blogging this is what happens. Puck cuddles right up next to me,
stretches out his paws so much that he starts moving my mouse. It's pretty funny.

Art blog

I didn't want to take up room on our blog for all my crafts/art, so I thought I would just start a whole new blog for it all. It's called: lgprojects.blogspot.com ENJOY!

Nice visit with Pop.

Pop headed back to Raleigh with Kyle last night, after being with us for 10 days. We are thankful we were able to have this time with him, and got to see a new side of Pop hearing all his stories and cracking up at his jokes. We started the trip with a visit to Red Lobster, so we thought it would only be appropriate to end with it too!

Skyped You.

So don't know if you guys have heard of this program called Skype yet or not... but our friends Molly & Marshal are pros at it. If you have a webcam (or a mac that comes with one... did you see what I did there a little mac promoting?!) you can download this program called Skype and talk to eachother on it.

It's so fun and we ended up talking to M&M for about 45 minutes last night!! It's like we were all just sitting in the same room talking! M&M didn't know I took a screenshot of them last night when they were talking to us! haha. Pop even said hello to them on it!

Photo Shoot.

I forgot to show some pictures from our photo shoot last weekend. We had a good time out at the battlefield together. We did get a couple good ones, but there are definitely some funny ones. YES we did try to be cheesy and use a sign, but it just didn't work out! haha
Here are a couple to show:
Tyson just had to kiss me right as the flash went off:And you'll just have to wait and see the picture that we decided to put on the front :) We did learn through this experience that our camera can't do the job that well!

needles & stitches.

At age 25, I just received my first set of stitches... Kyle had his first ones at age 3. (homebody vs. risktaker I guess)

Monday I had another biopsy on my small thyroid tumor. The last one came back inconclusive, so they went at it again. I should hear results in a week.

Tuesday I had 2 of my pilar cysts removed, the big one on top of my head and a smaller one on the side. Unfortunately even though I had a consultation before where the doctor told me she would slice instead of punch.... she punched. It's more of a painful surgery than the other, and it didn't help that the entire first cyst I could feel because the nurse didn't give me enough numbing medicine. Kyle was there for moral support, which helped me act a little more tough. Oh well at least they are out now, and in a week the stitches should fall out on their own.

And that's my update. Thank you all for your prayers, they were appreciated!!

Pop comes to Hotlanta.

That's right folks, Kyle's 95 year old grandpa, Pop, flew down from NC on Saturday! Kerry & Brad were on their way to a cruise, so they flew down with him, stopping through ATL for us. He's staying with us for 10 days, and we're having a great time visiting with him. We've just been staying in (a nice change for Kyle & I), eating some good food and hearing lots of stories from how he met Ging (Kyle's grandma who passed away a couple years ago) and what jobs he's held throughout the years. He's surprised me with how talkative he's been since he came down-- he even got spunky and was checking out some "tootsie-wootsies" in Red Lobster the other night! ha. Anyways here are a couple pictures.
Every day Pop has his "happy hour" drink when we get home from work.
Our cats are loving Pop's electric blanket, and have been cuddling with him a lot:
He's been getting up the stairs just fine with Kyle's help for balance. Kyle has been making him breakfast and packing him a lunch everyday before he heads to work... what a sweet husband I have!

Hit & Run= Our Morning

This morning Kyle and I were sitting in the living room with Pop watching tv. Kyle heard a noise outside and saw a car start backing up in front of our house. He immediately runs outside and saw that his jeeps' back right bumper is completely dented in. The car starts zooming up the street (going the wrong way on a one way street) and Kyle starts running after it, yelling. I see the car turn the corner, with Kyle in hot pursuit after it. I have no clue what to do, but Kyle had no shoes on, so I figured he couldn't get that far and he needed back up. I got the keys and started driving around trying to find Kyle. I went a couple blocks around our house, no sign of Kyle anywhere. I started to head back to our house when I see Kyle walking back and the car following him. It was a lady, who claimed she got "hit from behind" and she was going after the person who hit her. Now as you know I don't get that fired up about things, but when people blatently lie to your face.... I think it's completely wrong and I absolutely hate it. She kept saying "I am a criminal recovery agent I would never just leave, I was coming back".... YEAH RIGHT. While she was waiting for the cop to come she smoked about 4 cigarettes--- clearly not nervous at all.

Kyle later told me that thankfully she got stopped by the train and had no where to go. She pulled into a church parking lot and that's where Kyle trapped her. So we called the police and she fed him the lie about getting hit from behind, and it was a white tahoe with a man in it. (ALL of which she made up on the spot). She also tried to tell him that she was following Kyle down the street (but Kyle's car was parked the entire time!!). The cop of course couldn't charge her for hit and run, since her story was completely different. Gosh some people are just unbelievable, and our society lets them get away with it. SO that's how our morning went, how about yours?!

Tagged: 7 little known facts

So about a month ago we were tagged from Tara and I'm JUST now getting to it :) haha we'll try to think of things we haven't said on here before!

Leah
1)I purposely don't make eye contact with anyone while I'm in the drive through at McDonalds... I am secretly ashamed and I don't want anyone to see me or talk to me about our mutual love of terrible food.

2)I give bad looks to the girls in gyms that wear makeup, tight clothes, and dangly earrings... what is the point?!?!

3) Over the years I have become a little moody. Kyle pretends like he's riding a real rollercoaster (puts his arms up in the air, leans over to the side and screams haha).

4) Kyle once told me that I could not wear a sweatsuit anymore. It was winter of my sophomore year up at ASU... and I guess that was my favorite outfit for over a month HAHA.

5) I really want to learn how to play the guitar and make a quilt. I will do both before I leave this earth. (Nick stop laughing about the guitar)

6) I LOVE rap music-- the beats are crazy. My favorite song right now is by Rhianna called Rehab. (not rap but I still thought I would share)

7) I have slowly turned into a MAC freak... Anything PC or Microsoft related really just isn't cool.

Kyle
1) I am left handed. (Fun Fact: 11% of the world's population is left-handed)

2) I read as fast as a 7 year old

3) I have zero musical ability, but sometimes I pretend and think I am good at things until Leah tells me otherwise.

4) I don't pay full price...for anything

5) Even though I consider myself relatively athletic, I am a total spaz when it comes to basketball, baseball and golf

6) I have a 1931 Model A Ford Pick Up that I am going to restore as soon as we have room to keep it.

7) I could eat Mexican food for every meal and be perfectly happy, even though I didnt even like Mexican food until college

Hope you enjoyed :) Now we tag EVERYONE! Either leave us yours in a comment or post on your own blog!!

Exciting Things!

So over the past 2 weeks we've had some exciting things happen and I thought I would share!
The first is that Kyle bought me an iPHONE!! I basically salivate anytime one of the commercials come on, but everytime he would ask me about it, I told him that I didn't need one. Well he disregarded everything I said and bought me one anyways... and I LOVE IT! It is just so much fun to be able to text easier, check my email, check traffic in ATL, have a gps where ever I go, see where my friends are, store all my addresses, have a camera AND a nice phone :) I could go on and on but you get the point! Thank you Kyle! (we enjoy having races between ky's blackberry & the iphone to research something on the internet... not even close!)
Our other really exciting news is that we are CABIN OWNERS!!! As most of you know, the cabin in Boone where I lived during college is now split between 5 couples, giving them all 10 weeks each. Well one of the couples wanted to sell and have officially accepted our offer! We are so excited as Boone is and will always be a place we call "home", and we know it will be such a great investment! Can't wait :)

Happy Halloween 2008!

Friday was such a fun day! At work, all of us had been divided into teams for a costume contest. My group decided to be celebrities that have gone through rehab like Britney Spears, Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Lohan, Elizabeth Taylor, 50 cent, DMX and Michael Jackson. It was a very fun day around the office!
I made badges for everyone that said who we were:
Lindsey Lohan, Amy Winehouse & Britney Spears:
The other teams had some great ideas too! Richard Simmons team:
Wedding gone bad:
My boss, Donna, was the crazy drunk guest... Note the alcohol in her cleavage... Haha!
Cereal killers:
Favor boxes:
We also had a contest about who could bring in the best decorated/tasting food. I made some delicious dirt cake (with milano cookies as tombstones) which I called "graveyard delight" and ended up getting honorable mention!
I ended up taking a half day so that Kyle and I could meet and vote. WELL we got there, waited in line for over an hour and then saw a sign that we would be in line 3 more hours... No thank you. SO we are going to vote on the 4th, and hopefully the lines won't be as terrible!

We went home, packed our stuff and headed to Charlotte to meet Molly & Marshal for Halloween. We had so much fun with them last year, and since we had another thing to do in NC that weekend we decided to go for it. We all had bought matching costumes for Fred & Wilma Flintstone and Barney & Betty Rubble. Everyone we saw that night just loved our costumes and we had so much fun.

Fred & Barney:
Wilma & Betty:
We ended up going to uptown Charlotte to a party that one of Molly's clients from work was throwing. Around 10:30 Molly & I started yawning so we all decided to call it a night and go home! We all ended up staying awake until 3:00 playing guitar hero and talking though!!

Saturday morning the guys went mountain biking and Molly & I went out shopping. Molly & I realized that we are starting to begin to share a brain as well as the whole time we were finishing eachothers sentences! We all met up back at the house and drove to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens where M&M had a catering appointment. I mean it is just beautiful and it's going to be absolutely perfect for their wedding. They have definitely set the date to be May 3rd, and it's exactly 6 months from tomorrow! ( Now Sara don't laugh but I did attempt to try and take flower/scenery pictures but I don't have a spectacular camera like you!)
Kyle and I drove separately so we could then head to Greensboro for a couples shower for Lauren Farrington and Justin.
I hadn't seen Lauren in 2 years (unbelievable!) so it was great getting time to catch up with her and be excited together for her wedding! They had a beautiful cake made for them:
They also played a game where Lauren had to feel all the guys legs and tell which ones were Justins... And she picked him out of the crowd!!
Okay now brace yourself b/c this story is so typical Leah but it was probably the highlight of the night. So when we get there, we know no one except Lauren & Justin... No big deal. One of the girls hosting handed me a recipe card and said "write a recipe on the card for Lauren & Justin"... So I followed the directions all the while thinking "I barely cook let alone memorize recipes!!" Kyle and I racked our brains and finally remembered a pot roast recipe, so wrote it down and put it in the bowl. Well after I did that the hostess goes "you didn't write a real recipe did you?!" and of course I said yes, and immediately everyone started laughing! Well what they forgot to tell us was to write a love recipe on a good marriage... Hmm that would of helped. Anyways they ended up reading them outloud so Lauren & Justin could guess who wrote them and of course they read my entire recipe, ingredients and all just to embarrass us a little more... Nice.
We drove back to Charlotte to spend the night with M&M (they had graciously kept Tyson all night for us!) We all woke up this morning and went on a hike in Francis Beattie Park and the leaves were so beautiful! Tyson ended up chasing a couple geese in the lake, and then turned around b/c he got scared! Haha
We all went to McCalisters for lunch before we headed out. Molly and I had been talking wedding all weekend and she had gotten some color swatch samples from her bridesmaid dress company. We couldn't decide between these two colors, b/c both were so pretty. Well when we were at lunch Molly brings up the swatches and is like "Leah are you sure you like those colors?" and I said "of course I love them they are going to be beautiful!" and she goes "Good because you are going to be wearing them!!! Will you be one of my bridesmaids?" I immediately started crying because I was so shocked and excited, which in turn made Molly cry too... Haha we are such a mess! So that means that Kyle and I BOTH will get to be a part of their amazing wedding in May... We are so pumped we can't wait!! Thank you two for such a great weekend!!!
