Brenda's Surprise 60th!

We surprised Kyle's mom for her 60th birthday and threw her a fun party to celebrate!  So many friends and family were able to make it and it was a lot of fun for Don and all the kids to work together to make it happen!  We had a DJ, karaoke & dance floor, yummy food and a fun photo booth for silly pictures!

A really fun night celebrating Brenda!

Snickerdoodles!

So my friend, Jenn, shared this AMAZING snicker doodle recipe and we have made it WAYYY to much lately :)  I wanted to post it on our blog not only to share with everyone but to just have it here for easy access!  Here is the original recipe

Jenn said you can also use Trader Joe's crunchy or regular cookie butter instead of Biscoff spread, but I've only used the Biscoff and it's delicious!

SNICKERDOODLE COOKIE RECIPE
Ingredients
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 3/4 cup Biscoff spread
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 TB cinnamon

Instructions
  1. Mix together the cake mix, eggs and oil in a bowl until all combined.
  2. Swirl in the biscoff but do not over swirl. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 350.
  4. Place sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and mix well.
  5. Roll 1 1/2 inch balls of dough in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  6. Place on greased pan and bake for 7-9 minutes.

Fun with Friends!

A couple fun pictures to share!  We finally got to meet Caroline, Cory & Mada's newest addition!  Man did Will look HUGE compared to a newborn!
We hung out with Molly, Marshal and Reese down in their neck of the woods and visited the lot where they are going to build their house!  So excited for them -- should be moving in around July!  Reese and Will are so cute in their wagon together :)
We popped champagne on their lot and made them drink out of these redneck goblets haha!
Kyle and Emery went to a Checkers game and got to hang out in the box seats with Warren and Joey Lagano... fancy!  Emery was so excited to go on a date with Daddy!
And I have to share these adorable presents that we received in the mail from Jeneane & Curtis.  TOO cute!

Frozen Party & Preschool!

I love our nearby Parks & Rec and all their programs they offer.  In January, they offered a "Frozen" party and of course Emery had a blast listening to all the Frozen songs while making fun crafts, having story time and a big dance party at the end.
This picture might be nothing to most people but I couldn't believe she marched herself up to the front of the class and squeezed through everyone to get a front row seat to listen to the book.  Emery really has come out of her shell so much the last year!
In other news, Emery and I toured a preschool!  Since she'll be 4 in a couple months, we are already having to think of Preschool for the Fall!  A nearby church's program came strongly recommended and we were so impressed touring around.  I think she's going to love it!  We find out in February if we made it in or not since there normally is a waiting list with a lottery.... fingers crossed!

No more sticks!

A couple weeks ago, the kids and I were outside playing with Tyson in the backyard.  He normally plays with frisbees but I couldn't find one easily so I just had him pick up a stick for me to throw.  The way the stick landed it stuck into the ground at a weird angle and Tyson ran up quickly to get it and ended up puncturing a hole in his soft palette (upper esophagus).  Thankfully, Kyle was in town and was able to meet us at the Vet and then take him onto the Emergency Vet.  After an X-ray, 2 CT scans, and staying overnight for observation our boy was back home.  All those tests helped us know that there was no remaining stick in his mouth which would have caused a terrible infection.  He came home with about 5 different medicines to take but within a couple days was back to normal and we are thankful he did not need surgery!
Kyle visited him on his way home from work in the Emergency Vet to give him some loving:
After he was home... sleepy boy!
And all better now!
No more sticks for Tyson!
