Emery's 2 month check up!

Emery turned 2 months on Mother's Day, so the following week we took her in for her 2 month check up.  I was so excited to finally get her weight checked and hear all her stats, but of course was dreading the shots as I've heard some moms cry seeing their babies in pain!

Emery is growing and developing great!  Here are all her measurements:

Height = 23 3/4 inches = 97%

Weight = 11 lb 13 ounces = 75%

Head Circumference = 15 1/2 = 75%

She even fell asleep between getting weighed and her check up.

 She was a complete trooper through the shots too (3 in the legs and 1 taken orally).  She would cry as each pinch hit, but calm down immediately after that, thank heavens.   Look at her little bandaged legs!

 We are so blessed with a happy baby, even after getting those shots!  They didn't seem to affect her at all!

Instead of Flowers!

Last week we had a WONDERFUL meal delivered to our house from a company called Instead of Flowers.  Our friends, Taylor and Courtney, ordered a South of the Border Chicken meal for us and it was AMAZING.  Instead of Flowers is a company that's been delivering fresh gourmet meals in the metro Atlanta area since 1990.

I opened the insulated tote and saw this:

All the parts of the meal were wrapped beautifully and smelled SO good.

Kyle and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and barely had any leftovers because we ate so much.

Thank you again Taylor and Courtney.  It was SO thoughtful and absolutely delicious!!  If you live in the Atlanta area and want to give someone a meal we would totally recommend this company!

Wordless Wednesday: Our 2 month old!!

My first Mother's Day!

Our day started off by cuddling in bed with Emery between us for a little while before it was time to feed her.  We still are so content staring at her to see all the different expressions she's making and talking about all the new things that develop every day!  So blessed!!

Emery and I came down in our pajamas to find the table filled with cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, and a card.  Kyle always buys cards last minute and then forgets to write in them, so I was SO EXCITED to have a hand written card from him... done ahead of time!  Way to go Kyle!

We went to the 11:30 church service and Emery did wonderful sitting/sleeping in her carseat the entire time.  She was due to feed again at 12:30 so we slipped out the back a little early.

And I had to get a close up shot of her cute bloomers that Lauren gave me at one of my showers.  LOVE THEM!

We then changed and headed out for our Mothers Day picnic!  We walked to a nearby park and ate our sandwiches and chips and enjoyed the beautiful day (We forgot a blanket so we used our rain jackets!)

We even set the self timer to get pictures of our fam!  Not perfect but still love it :)

I guess this is what it's going to be like when we have 2 kids... when one is finally looking the other isn't having it!

And this next one cracks me up too.  I feel like her expression says "SUP hommies".

We walked back home and up to the square where they were having an arts & crafts festival.  I found some cute bows for Em :)

 And then we finished the night by making my favorite meal -- spaghetti with meat sauce!  We also made our first caprese salad... it was DELCIOUS!

I can't believe Emery turned 2 months old on Mother's Day.  Without a doubt... I am SO thankful to be a mom :)

Baby Caleb is here!

Kerry & Brad had their baby on Friday, April 29th just in time for us to still meet him while we were in town!  He is absolutely perfect and we are so excited about our new nephew!

We made it to the hospital after visiting hours on Friday but still were able to go in luckily!  We went back Saturday to visit and say goodbye till our next trip up to Raleigh!

What a wonderful week!

As I mentioned earlier, I spent the whole week in Raleigh with my family while Kyle traveled for work.  We had THE BEST time, man it just flew by! Tara and Jamie graciously opened up their house for Emery and I to stay in and it was so fun being over at the "kiddo house".  I loved playing with Natalie and Nathan and watching everything that Samantha and Samuel can do now.  They are all getting so big! We did so many fun things and snapped a couple pictures to document!

First was introducing the cousins!  It's so cool having all these cousins around her age for her to play with!

The two that were most interested in Emery were Samantha and Nathan, isn't that funny?

Went on a walk with everyone.  Took us all week to plan it with everyone's schedules but we FINALLY did it!

Hung out with Grandpa and celebrated his wonderful news of his cancer being in COMPLETE REMISSION!!!

Thank you again so much T&J for letting me stay with you all week long.  I had so much fun and the week truly went by too quickly!

Jubala village coffee in Raleigh!

 

Last week I also was able to visit my friend, Andrew's, new coffee shop in Raleigh called Jubala! 

 

Andrew and I were in youth group at Bayleaf Baptist Church many years ago and it's so cool to see him becoming an entrepreneur and opening this coffee shop to help others.  Here is what it's all about:

Tara, Mom and I met Jenn there, a dear friend who just had a baby girl in January!  (Don't worry Emery is already as big as Kailyn is haha). It was awesome for all of us to catch up and meet Kailyn!  Jenn you look great and make having a toddler and a newborn look easy!!

Mom said we HAD to try the waffles, and without a doubt they were delicious!  Look at the pretty design they put on top of the latte!

Total we had 7 kiddos there with us!  Natalie is looking so grown up!

Mom had been to Jubala a couple times already since Dad's aqua therapy is right next door! 

Another friend from Bayleaf, Jessica, stopped by the coffee shop as well since she heard that we were going to be there.  It was good to see you Jessica!
