Emery moments!

Happy Friday!  Our little girl cracks us up daily with the things she's been saying lately, so before I forget I want to document!
- The other day she walked into the bonus room and didn't see one of her toys that she wanted to play with.  She walked back into our room to find Kyle and said "Are you kidding me?" with her arms out... hahaha!
- The other day, Kyle asked Emery "When did you get so fast?".  She responded, "Uhhh one thirty" hahaha.
- When we all sit down for dinner, after Emery finishes her food she says over and over "I love you Mommy"  "I love you Daddy"  "I love you guys", then she grabs both our hands and says "Best Friends".   Melt our hearts!
- I told Emery she was "so stinkin' cute" the other day, and she immediately stopped smiling and said "I not stinky Mommy, see" and pulled down her pants.

And a few pictures to document too!  I found this rocker/chair at a garage sale for $15.  Emery LOVES it.

Took a 5 minute power nap outside last weekend... we literally spent ALL DAY outside spreading mulch, more on that later!  She never falls asleep anywhere but her crib, so I was soaking in the cuddles.

Although she has turned into the BIGGEST cuddler lately.  She either has to be sitting on me or holding my hand when she watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the mornings!

How she stays entertained when I'm cooking.  Her fine motor skills are pretty impressive and she gets the noodles in those tiny holes first try.  She loves to play with little things that are all the same... whether that be noodles, quarters, rocks-- she's in heaven.

When you ask Emery who her best friend is besides Mommy and Daddy, her answer is Merrin.  We met them for a Monkey Joe's playdate this week and had a blast watching the girls run around together.

We've also been going to Discovery Place Kids every week, Em loves it. 

 We've meeting meeting Kyle a lot lately for picnics during lunch or dinner... enjoying the weather outside!

If this next picture doesn't show how much she loves jewelry, I don't know what will.  Girly Girl!

Imagine Dragons Concert

Tuesday night, Kyle and I were able to go to the Imagine Dragons concert with Ashley and we had SO.MUCH.FUN.  My parents & Grandma were catching a flight from Charlotte the next morning, so a huge thank you to them for watching over the monitor in case Emery woke up, so we could go!  We got there around 9:30, pretty much right before Imagine Dragons came on which was perfect timing.  None of us really knew more than 2 of their songs, but I will say I'm now a complete fan and have already bought their whole album.  They were so good in concert, super humble and I could literally watch the lead singer dance all day long.  There were drums located all over the stage, including one up in the air that the lead singer would put on a harness to fly up and drum.

Duvet Cover turned Shower Curtain DIY

Remember the brand new target duvet cover that I found at goodwill for $14?  Well it's officially converted into a shower curtain and we are loving the look of it!  First, I sewed up the side of the duvet that had the opening & buttons for actually putting the duvet in.  

Then next step was buying a $3 grommet tool from Michaels that worked AWESOME!

Kyle helped me with the hammering part b/c I would probably hit my hand more than the actual grommet! 

I couldn't believe how easy it was though, before we knew it we were done and had an official shower curtain!  We moved our shower curtain rod up higher, and I still had to hem the curtain a little bit because it was so tall.

I'm so happy with how it came out.  My projects have been going a little too smoothly lately, which means I'm about to have a BIG FLOP soon I'm sure :)

And yes we just hung that frame and I don't have all the pictures in them yet... keeping it real!

Caleb turns 2!

Two weekends ago, we headed to Raleigh for our nephew, Caleb's 2nd Birthday.  Halfway there I realized I forgot my camera, so only had my phone to document.

Saturday morning after breakfast we surprised Kerry & Brad with a shower for their baby girl, due May 17th!  I picked up yummy cupcakes from Polka Dot Bakery here in Charlotte, and we all had a great time giving them girly presents :)

Brenda gave Kerry cupcakes too... except they were cute little onsies tied up with socks to look like cupcakes, so cute.

This is what Kyle and I made for K&B... a hair bow & headband holder!  Take a frame, cut & attach strips of ribbon in the top, and then screw in eye hooks underneath for headbands!

Caleb's party started at 4, and the kids had a blast playing with the bubble maker on the deck while everyone else was arriving!

Emery was obsessed with Baby Bayly and wanted to know where she was & see her every second.  Such a little mommy already!

Friday Randoms!

I have had a cold all week (hence the lack in posts), but I'll finish up this week with some random pictures I took from my phone. 

- Our little girl LOVES the sand... like seriously would play in it all day everyday if we let her.   We need to get her to a beach soon!

- Sweet reading moments with Daddy.

- When Kyle travels, I seriously turn into the biggest slob.  This is how our sink looks most of the time when he's gone, as after I put Emery down for bed the last thing I want to do is dishes.

- Also, when Kyle travels I don't feel like cooking big dinners just for myself.  So I'll make a crock pot meal (normally chili or chicken tortilla soup) and eat it every night for dinner.

 - Alright this post is turning into how I'm lazy, but I promise this is my last one.  I do not do laundry everyday, as I think it's a waste of time.  I probably average once a week (ok ok sometimes we go longer), and I set up my laptop, watch Netflix and fold/put away during nap time. 

- I finished another sign a couple weeks ago as a wedding gift.  I love how it came out.

- No one told me to not empty out the ENTIRE package of seeds into my garden.  We now officially have 100 heads of lettuce growing in a 2 foot section.. haha.  I'm going to have to do a lot of work this weekend to space them out & throw some away!

- We finally made it to one of Kyle's kickball games that he's a part of through work.  He pitches for his team, and Emery was cracking everyone up saying GOOOOO DADDY GOOOO!

- Kyle and I went on our first date night since LAST JULY, last night.... that's 10 months people! We had the best time eating at 131 Main and going for ice cream afterwards.  Shannon was recommended to us from a friend of a friend and we are so grateful for how she met all of our specifications in what we were looking for in a babysitter.  Emery even told her that she loved her, TWICE--- our shy little girl was not shy to her at all!  Think it's a match made it heaven :)  Loved time alone with Kyle last night... at the end of this month we'll celebrate 11 years of being together!
