Last Aquarium trip as Georgia residents!

Emery and I got to visit the aquarium one more time before we moved, with Mike and Gunney!  They are season pass holders, so Emery and I were able to go for free as their guests... so awesome!  We had a great time going and the kids just love it there looking at all the fish!

We headed upstairs to see the frog exhibit, which Emery and I had never seen before.  Crazy how many different types and colors their are!

And then Emery was exhausted.  No joke she said "night night" and laid down on the floor multiple times... SO gross I know, but so funny I had to take a picture.

Thank you Gunney and Mikey for letting Em and I tag along for the day.  We had an awesome time!

 

Going Away Party

A couple weekends ago, Chris and Kathleen hosted a going away party for us!  It was so much fun to have so many of our best friends and family all together with us one last time before we moved.
Chris and Kathleen supplied drinks, burgers and hot dogs and then everyone invited brought yummy sides!  Needless to say, their table was full of delicious food!
We can't thank everyone enough for coming and making Kyle, Emery and I feel so loved.  I'm sad I didn't get a picture of all of our kiddos together (I think we had 6 total!), but we did at least take individual pictures with everyone who made it.  So without further ado!

Thank you again Chris and Kathleen for hosting such an awesome going away party for Kyle and I.  It's so crazy to think that we moved to Marietta ONLY knowing you two.  What a blessing it's been to only live a couple blocks away from best friends!

And I can't end the post without a HUGE thank you to Curtis and Jeneane for making this night possible for Kyle and I to thoroughly enjoy.  Emery had an ear infection and was all around feeling pretty horrible that night, so J&C graciously took her home for us and got her to sleep in her crib so we could stay at the party longer.  Thank you for being such thoughtful friends!

We truly feel so blessed by the friendships we've formed over the years with these people to help make Georgia our home!  Love and miss y'all already!

OH and I wanted to include a picture of Stephanie and I!  The Hellers unfortunately couldn't come to our going away party as they were out of town, so Steph and I met the following week to walk on the Silver Comet trail together.  Another sweet friend from N-Weds that we were so blessed to have met!

The first weekend after our due diligence period ended we spent packing, packing and more packing.  Well really, I was packing while Kyle spent 100% of his time stuck in insulation fixing some items off of our inspection list, poor guy.  So we were very excited to head to the Norton's house on Saturday night to spend some family time with them before we moved.  Tim has always treated Kyle like a son, and we will always be grateful for how Tim helped mentor Kyle in his career. 
Emery had an absolute ball hanging out with all the kids, and it was such a treat for Kyle and I to eat a meal in peace and be able to visit afterwards with Tim and Deidre.  Their oldest girl, Elizabeth, watched Emery the entire time, while the boys soaked up their last night with Tyson, as they've grown very attached since they always watch Tyson for us when we go on vacations.

Girls' Night Out: Verde

Jen, Lacey and I met for one last girls' night at one of our favorite restaurants near Lacey's house: Verde!  We had the best time catching up on all the exciting events happening in all of our lives and laughing a ton of course.  So thankful for these girls and the close friendships we formed over the years!

Already looking forward to our next girls' night whenever we come back to visit!

Boonetown for Labor Day

Happy Monday, everyone! I'm going to attempt to catch up on blogging what we've been up to the past month... starting with Labor Day weekend!  Kyle, Emery, Tyson and I spent a long weekend up in Boone and we had the best time relaxing and enjoying being outside.  We actually found out on the drive up to Boone that our house had officially sold so we were soaking up the couple days of down time before the craziness of moving would start!

End in sight!

Y'ALL things are crazy around here... just pure chaos at the moment BUT there is an end in sight!

We are officially back living in North Carolina and loving every second... seriously we are so happy.  I'm excited to get back to blogging and recording all the things that have gone on this month, but in the mean time I did want to let you all know that my thyroid surgery went really well and I am still so thankful for your prayers.

So we'll be back next week with lots of new posts and updates that I haven't had a chance to blog on yet from our life the past couple weeks. Hope y'all have a great rest of your week!

Surgery on Friday

Well I guess it's about time I announce some big news that will be happening this week.  In the midst of the craziness of packing up our house and moving to a new state in 9 days, I am getting my thyroid taken out this Friday.  It's a very routine surgery, and something that will make my life a lot easier in the long run....BUT none-the-less it is my first surgery and pretty nerve wracking to say the least.  We also have the world's best caretaker coming in town tomorrow (Thursday) to help with Emery while Kyle is at the hospital with me.  Can't wait to see my momma!

Making progress!

We've made so much progress on our house this past week.  The idea of moving is truly an undeniable reality now with how bare our house is.  I've packed up everything from the basement and 1st floors, plus all the artwork from the entire house.  All that's left to pack are the upstairs bedrooms!

We have officially found a rental property in Charlotte that we'll live in until we've settled on a house to buy... yeah we won't be homeless!  Now is the hard part of organizing everything into "final home" or "rental home" piles!

While I've been packing, Kyle has been doing the last minute repairs for the inspection amendment.  Saturday and Sunday were very long days for him, spent up in the attic covered in insulation.  But it's checked off the list now, so we can focus on packing together!  Here is Emery helping give Daddy instructions on what to do...

We've also spent the last week enjoying living walking distance from the square and getting together with friends almost every night.  We are excited about moving back to NC, but sure are going to miss our life in Marietta.  

Tomorrow night, our friends Chris & Kathleen are hosting a going away party for us which we are really excited to have a night spent with friends and family.  So sweet of them!

SOLD!

Woah, did I really go a week without posting? Unfortunately, I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of that this month, but I do have a great reason!

It is with extreme excitement that we can announce our house has officially SOLD! I know I mentioned a couple weeks ago that we were under contract but still needed the inspection, appraisal and financing to go through. Well, by the grace of God everything went smoothly passing all those deadlines and we can finally say the word "SOLD"! 

We close on our house at the end of this month, and will be moving back to North Carolina as Kyle has been approved to start working from Charlotte come October 1st!  It has been a wonderful 5 1/2 years spent in Marietta and we are beyond blessed by all of our friends and family who have helped us call this place "home".

So the official countdown is on... 22 days.  Oh my word, 22 days.  Now please excuse me, I have to start packing!
