Wednesday night, we hurried home from dinner so Kyle and our brother in law, Mikey, could begin packing the truck. We had the garage all ready to go with boxes and also the dining room was completely filled with packed totes! Between the two of them they got half of the truck packed that night, and we started to get a little worried all of our stuff wasn't going to fit :)
Thursday night was our last night in the house and we had so many people come by to help and shower us with love. So many of Ky's friends came to help lift the heavy furniture into the truck and before we knew it they were DONE. David, Curtis, Chris, Mikey and Taylor... THANK YOU!!
My girls, Jeneane and Lacey, came out too! I don't think we lifted one box, but we sure did have a great time visiting together :)
We also joined Mom in playing with Gunney and Em to keep them entertained while the guys packed!

Then it was time for Em to head to bed and say goodbye to Lacey. You can tell how much Emery loves her "Auntie Pam"!
And say goodbye to Miss Jeneane. It's just so fitting that Em and Jeneane were dressed like twins! She is without a doubt Emery's favorite person besides family and we are so thankful that Jeneane was able to spend that year watching Emery when I went into the office.
It was a very emotional night to say the least as having to say goodbye to best friends is never easy, but we went to bed so thankful for the friendships that we've formed over the years. We did realize Thursday night that all of our stuff was in fact, NOT going to fit in the budget truck... SHOOT!
One of Ky's coworkers was driving back (in his truck!) back to Huntersville the next morning (at 5 am) so he graciously offered to bring some of our stuff up with him. Kyle woke up at 5, packed our washer, dryer, 2 box springs and grill into the back of his truck and away he went... thank you again Richard!
Friday morning, we were STILL packing, cleaning, and returning Comcast boxes! Chris, Kathleen and Myer swung by to say goodbye one more time too! So thankful for this sweet family and how they've helped us make Marietta our home over the years.
SO MIKEY to the rescue!! He brought his truck and trailer over, loaded it and then drove all the way to Charlotte with us. I seriously don't know what we would have done without him. He's our hero.
Now off to Charlotte we go!

I think we finally locked and closed the door around 1:00 (our goal was 12 so not too bad!). Here was our crazy caravan!

What a whirlwind! Not to mention that you had surgery one week before! Mickey was amazing but so was Kyle. I can't believe how hard that guy worked at packing, carrying and loading, in addition to taking care of you and working his day job! So thankful the move is now behind you! Wonderful friends, wonderful memories and now, new beginnings!
It is crazy how much stuff you end up accumulating. We had the same situation. Way more stuff than anticipated. I'm so glad you were able to find help and get all your stuff to Charlotte! Helpful friends and family are great!
Oh man, what a packed full days! So thankful for all the extra hands to get your stuff up here... Love the pictures of you all with your GA buds too! Such sweet friendships!

Oh, my goodness. I heard about it, but still - I had no idea until I saw it all in your photos! What a great job you all did to get the job accomplished. Mikey went above and beyond the call of duty. So happy to have you all closer to us though
