Sunday morning we woke up and had a quick breakfast with
the Baylys before we headed out to Yosemite! We got there a little after
lunch, and immediately went to Mariposa Grove. The parking lot was full so we had to park a little ways away and take a bus in, which wasn't bad at all. Once getting there and seeing all the tourists we knew we would be hiking all the way in to get away from some of them!
The sequoia trees are amazing, and most are between 800 and 1000 years old. Do you see Kyle & Emery in the bottom left of the picture in front of the tree?

The hike up to the top was nice and peaceful with no one on it!

Very thankful we had our camel backs... the air is so dry up there!

After a couple hours we felt like we had seen all the trees we needed to so we headed over to our hotel to check in and eat some dinner. We stayed at the Wawona Hotel and it was very cool inside.
Our room actually had just a sink inside, and the bathrooms are communal down the hall. They were SUPER nice though so I snuck in to take a picture :)
No AC inside the room either but with the windows open it felt perfect since it gets so cold at night there!
There was even a pool! We unfortunately didn't have time to use it, but still nice!
We ate a quick dinner before heading back to the car to drive to Glacier Point. On the way to the car Emery found a pine cone and LOVED it. The face on the right is her "woahhhh" face. Hilarious!
Glacier Point was unbelievable. The view was just absolutely breathtaking.

The high mountain/rock on the left is called Half Dome. I seriously can't believe we know so many people who have hiked to the top of it. Here is Kyle with Half Dome in the background:

We stayed for the sunset too and had to force ourselves to head home to get Emery in bed!
The drive home was beautiful too winding through the mountains. We stopped for one last sunset picture!
It was a perfect day in Yosemite, and we were excited to have one more day there to explore the Valley. That post will be coming up tomorrow!

Oh my gosh it's beautiful there! Added to our bucket list for sure! Emery is such a trooper enjoying everything you saw and even pointing to the big rock. So thankful you had gorgeous weather and got to see so many manifestations of God's amazing handiwork!
