Most of our weekends up in Boone are spent with friends and family, but just for a day we enjoyed some quality time with our family of three. I convinced Kyle to take off Friday so we could head up there Thursday night, and we had so much fun enjoying the beautiful weather up there together!
We decided to go to Hebron Rock Colony, and introduce Emery to a new place where Kyle and I have lots of great memories (One of which was me trying to climb up on a rock and the crotch of my jeans absolutely ripped in two. Kyle had to take off his shirt so I could put it through my pants to hold them up! haha). Emery had the best time throwing rocks in the water and getting herself all wet!
We enjoyed a picnic lunch on one of the larger rocks, then went back to splashing!

After relaxing back at the cabin during Emery's afternoon nap, we ate some left overs that we had brought up with us from Georgia, then headed to Valley Crusis park! There is a Music Fest every Friday night in the summer with free music and it was a beautiful night for it! It is SUCH a pretty park.

The talent wasn't the best that night, but it was awesome listening to some blue grass out on our picnic blanket. The best part was that the concert was sponsored by Stick Boy and they had FREE cheesecake samples. Yes please!

Then before we knew it, it was time for the Cress Family to come (post coming on that visit tomorrow!). I did take a few pictures on Sunday after they left of another hike around Bass Lake that we did! What a treat for Kyle to stay with us until Monday morning when he drove to Huntersville to work from there for the week!
And ending our time with eating popsicles out on the porch... PERFECT!

New reader and follower---LOVE your blog! Did you grow up around Boone---my dad recently moved to Blowing Rock, NC, so we have been in that area a couple times over the past couple years, so pretty! Love going to visit him. Hope you check out our site, The Chirping Moms!!
